Farmgate Restaurant in Nowra’s CBD is a fully licensed restaurant combining fresh food, local produce and true hospitality. Chef Gerald Poelzl and wife Nicole have built a team to deliver everything you want from a casual restaurant experience. Farmgate Restaurant offers a welcoming and relaxing place to enjoy a meal, a drink and time with friends and family.

 

Serving lunch and dinner 6 days, Farmgate Restaurant is the place to share a romantic dinner for 2, a small group or larger parties. Renovations in 2022 created a cosy dining room, bar and outdoor dining area overlooking the lush parkland and pond of Harry Sawkins Park.

People ask why we chose to name the restaurant Farmgate.

The connotation of a farm gate invokes the idea and feeling of traditional country society when life was more simple and eating was part of an experience – more than just a meal – enjoying time with family and friends. Furthermore, the connotation of a country influence in our name and decor (mixing country charm with more modern or industrial style), supplements the feeling of true hospitality. Friendly and welcoming service providing homemade and “comfort” food made with passion using quality produce (sourced locally where possible). 

 

Farmgate has established a warm, comfortable place to enjoy a delicious meal with family and friends in the heart of Nowra. 

 

All meals are prepared on site from raw ingredients with the expertise of chef Gerald Poelzl and his team – chefs Jen Temby and Annie Hindman and apprentice chef Katie Campbell.
